Believe. Disrupt. Inspire.
Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion. The potential for greatness lives within each of us.– WILMA RUDOLPH
The Arts and Sciences Center (ASC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in September 2021 by a 20-year veteran nonprofit consultant, training and technical assistance provider turned entrepreneur, and five women- and minority-led small business owners and STEAM education professionals. The intent was to conceptualize a solution to educational advancement and economic empowerment among Black children and youth, ages 8 to 21, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and the communities of Orangeburg County, both representative of low-income and under-resourced communities.
The Arts and Sciences Center leadership team governs the organization and shapes direction through its mission, strategy, finances, processes, and resources. They come from a broad range of professional backgrounds but share a common love and dedication of educating young Black leaders and youth of other historically underrepresented communities in the STEAM industry.
